Ever have one of those days?

Ever have one of those days where everything seems to go wrong and people come at you from every direction with all they're problems at once? It makes my head hurt!

Jon Stewart Points Out What's Wrong with TV Journalism

I usually don't agree with Jon Stewart's political point of view, but I can't help but agree with him when it comes to the quality of television journalism. The fact that he can have a comedy show that is a parody of television news shows just how bad things have gotten. The Governator's Acrostic Pocket Veto

Image
I'm not sure if this is was coincidental or done deliberately. But either way it's funny and it's making its way around the internets. A story on The Huffington Post describes the acrostic FU given to Democratic Assemblyman Tom Ammiano. Below is a screenshot of the letter that can be found here: http://gov.ca.gov/pdf/press/2009bills/AB1176_Ammiano_Veto_Message.pdf Well played Mr. Governator! You're sure to have people read everything you write from now looking for secret messages.

Anvil + Black Powder = FUN!

Who knew there was a sport called Anvil Shooting ? I didn't until I saw this video. Apparently, there's a National Avil Shooting Contest held each April in Laurel, Mississippi . Anvil Shooting or Anvil Launching as it is also known is relatively unknown as a sport. Personally, I think the sport is getting ready to explode in the United States. In the following video, World Champion Anvil Shooter, Gay Wilkinson gives us a demonstration. The only thing cooler would be a if the Anvil Shooters duke it out with the Illinois State University Trebuchet Team in a winner take all smack-down on pay-per-view.

Do Not Taunt Happy Fun Ball...

Going through my stuff in Google Reader, I came across this story on Engadet and just had to find the original SNL commercial for Happy Fun Ball.

iDon't know why, but I love this ad

I love this ad for the new Android handset coming to Verizon. I think it's great that you know exactly who their talking about without them having to mention Apple or the iPhone.

Cool Instrument straight out of Star Wars

Image
Saw an article on Engadget about these cool new musical instruments. They look like they're straight out of Star Wars. Remember the scene in the Cantina? I wonder what my friend Andrew Doss could with this if he got his hands on one? Here are two videos: one of them playing Moby's "Extreme Ways" and a second where they explain how the thing works.

Ever find a product on the intenet that you just had to have?

Does Auto-Tune make everything sound better?

I don't think this is what Andy Hildebrand had in mind when he invented the Auto-Tune.

Are you ready for some football...

I never realized the depth of talent within a football organization until a coworker shared a link to this video.

Ed McMahon passed away this morning at age 86

Heard on the radio this morning that Ed McMahon passed away .

Sleepwalking like the cool kids

I've not been sleeping well lately. So while I was surfing, waiting for slumber to find me, I found this cool video & song. If I'm going to have have a bad night's sleep then I wish I could do some cool sleepwalking like this.

Can't Get Enough Cheese

Yesterday was a nice lazy Sunday. I downloaded Richard Cheese's "The Sunny Side of the Moon: The Best of Richard Cheese" and played it all day while driving around Atlanta. I just can't get enough of the Cheese. In some cases, his versions are better than the originals.

I hear voices!

I've been traveling in the wayback machine back to the 80's. Just finished watching all of season one of "Miami Vice". Not only was Sonny Crockett the coolest dude on the planet, but the music in the show was classic 80s music. Now this song, Russ Ballard's "Voices", is stuck in my head. I know you're saying to yourself, "who the hell is Russ Ballard ?" I didn't know who he was either, but I did recognize this song.

Today is National Running Day

Today is National Running Day . Unfortunately, I'm still out of commission from my ankle injury from April. Anyway, I've elected Conan O'Brien to run for me this year.

The Producers

Don't know why but this band has been stuck in my head lately. I can remember when these songs were a hit in the 80's. In the mid 90's, I can remember seeing them play every now and then at American Pie on Roswell Rd.
